The team at No Fly Cruises has been busy researching some of the most enticing and interesting no fly cruises currently on sale in the UK and we’ve come up with what we honestly believe are five of the best, all departing next year!

*** SPOILER ALERT *** It’s important to note that it’s a challenging time out there right now so advising that any cruise is on sale does not necessarily mean that it WILL sail. With many major cruise lines pushing back their start dates to ensure the safe operation of their vessels. But… as of today, the cruises listed here are indeed scheduled to sail and we have sought to select cruises that we are pretty sure will operate. We’ve gone for a selection that highlights different areas of cruising, from the experiential to the grand, the remote location to the iconic. These are not traditionally themed cruises but we have created a themed approach to our list.

Queen Mary 2

1). The Iconic Ship Experience No Fly Cruise 🛳

When most people who don’t cruise imagine a cruise ship, they will probably visualize one of the Queen’s of Cunard, the most iconic ships in the world. Technically, Queen Mary 2 is an ocean liner rather than cruise ship and her Southampton to New York route is world famous – a must for any true cruise anoraks’ bucket list. Well, it’s possible to do New York with Cunard without flying but you’d need to put two cruises together back-to-back and that’s quite a long time at sea. But don’t panic, you can quite literally get a taste of the iconic crossing by taking a short cruise to Hamburg from Southampton on Queen Mary 2.

QM2 is a classic ocean liner and this 4 night outing with give you a real flavour of this Art Deco beauty without having to cross the Atlantic, TWICE!

This taster cruise to Hamburg and back departs from Southampton on 3rd May 2021 and can be booked for as little as £499 per person from ROL Cruise. >> View this cruise with ROL Cruise

2). The Iconic Embarkation Experience No Fly Cruise 🌉

Not so much a traditional no fly round Britain cruise (i.e a full circumnavigation) as a round ‘half’ of Britain and back again, but this voyage from the iconic port of Tower Bridge visits some gorgeous ports in the West of Great Britain and Ireland. What makes this voyage special is not just that it embarks and disembarks at Tower Bridge with an overnight stay on both embarkation and disembarkation, but you will also be sailing on one of the most famous and original ultra-luxury cruise ships in the world, the Silver Cloud.

Some highlight visits for us will be Tresco (Isles of Scilly), Dartmouth, Dublin, Skomer Island and of course, Tower Bridge itself, where you’ll embark using HMS Belfast and transfer by Thames river boat to join the ship.

But in the words of operator Silversea themselves, this is Springtime in the UK “Just don’t forget your umbrella”!

This iconic, luxury voyage departs May 17th 2021 from £6,930 per person direct from Silversea. >> View this voyage with Silversea Cruises

Golden Horizon

3). The True Mariners No Fly Cruise 🌊

This one is really exciting, a hidden gem in fact. Not only is this a brand-new cruise line and ship, Tradewind Voyages operating the Golden Horizon (which just happens to be the world’s largest square-rigged sailing vessel and near replica of the France II), but this is also a unique voyage with a true mariners and yachtsmen’s theme. Not only do you get this truly remarkable ship to enjoy (and we think the photo is all you need on that topic) but you’ll have the chance to see world-class sailing action during Cowes week with an overnight in Cowes and also visits some of our favourite south coast ports like Falmouth, the gateway to spectacular Cornish shore excursions.

This yachting delight departs Harwich on 4th August, 2021. We don’t have a lead in fare yet as this voyage is not quite on sale but details direct from the operator, Tradewind Voyages. >> View this voyages with Tradewind Voyages

4). The Explorers No Fly Cruise 🛶

An adventure expedition style to the North Cape & the Arctic Circle awaits on this no fly cruise from Dover. Your ship is Hurtigruten’s MS Maud, a biofuel powered cruise ship and expedition vessel.

What makes this special and on the list? Well it’s the perfect time to witness the spectacular Northern Lights and lands of the midnight sun for a start. It’s also a ground-breaking vessel and you’re guaranteed to take so many photos of the natural beauty you encounter you’ll need to carry a portable hard-drive! What’s more, this cruise line has an incredible 126 year heritage, you’ll be supported by an on board expedition team, expert lecturers, a Science Centre and even a free expedition jacket.

For the adventurers out there this No Fly Northern Lights & Fjords Expedition from Dover departs 16th of March 2021 and fares start at £4,102 per person. >> Visit Planet Cruise to book

Hebridean Princess Cruise Ship

5). The No Fly Cruise Fit For a Queen 👑

Well we’ve written about the smallest no fly cruise ship Hebridean Princess before so it seems fitting to feature her here too. From 21 July to 29 July 2006, HM Queen Elizabeth II chartered Hebridean Princess for a holiday around the Scottish Islands to mark her 80th birthday. And you can do a similar cruise in 2021 onboard the same vessel.

We love the look of ‘Footloose to Lochs & Isles’ featuring such beautiful places as the Isles of Eigg and Skye and the devilishly picturesque Tobermory. This cruise is about remoteness, landscapes, bracing walks and tranquil meanderings and we LOVE IT!

This regal sojourn can be booked directly with Hebridean Cruises from £4,770 per person and departs from Oban (Roundtrip) on 14th September 2021. >> Visit Hebridean Cruises direct for full cruise details
